OBITUARY
MR B. H. NEES Mr Berthold H. Nees, who was well known in Dunedin business circles, died yesterday at the age of 73. He served his apprenticeship with his father, the late Mr William Nees, and when the business was formed into the present company of William Nees and Company, Mr B. H. Nees was one of the original directors and later became managing director and chairman of directors. He took an active part in gold mining during the early days when dredging was first introduced in Otago, being a director of several mining companies, as well as a director of several Dunedin firms in later years. His principal sporting interest was in yachting, and he was especially interested in the Sander’s Cup contests. At t£ie time of his death he was a trustee, of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club. . . Mr Nees is survived by his widow and two sons, Messrs H. M. and B. R. Nees, all of Dunedin.
