HERMITAGE INCIDENT
OUTBREAK OF SICKNESS “A POISONOUS SUBSTANCE ” P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan 17. Tl._ district medical officer of health for South Canterbury, Dr G. L. McLeod, said this morning that the outbreak of sickness at the Hermitage last Tuesday had been definitely established by the Government analysts at Christchurch as being due to a poisonous substance and was not in any way related -to disease processes, infectious or of any other type.
