ARSENIC IN FLOUR
p.A. TIMARU. Jan. 18: Arsenic was found in a sample of flour sent by the Health Department from the Hermitage to the Government analysts in Christchurch for examination. The flour had been used in the cooking of a meal after which 39 persons, including guests and staff, became ill last Tuesday. All have now recovered. The police are making investigations but Inspector D. L. Calwell said to-night that nothing definite had yet been ascertained.
