HAWKE'S BAY BEATS MANAWATU P.A. NAPIER, Aug. 17. Hawke’s Bay beat Manawatu in a representative Rugby match by 17 points to 6 in a somewhat ragged game. Hawke's Bay was far superior on the day. the forwards displaying more sting and the backs better combination. Hawke’s Bay secured the ball from the majority of the scrums, but the Manawatu -pack won the greater portion of the line-outs. A series of scrum infringements in the 'first half saw Hawke's Bay receive a monotonous succession of penalty kicks. The half-time score was three-all.
