OTAGO HUNT CLUB

FINAL MEET OF SEASON Favoured by ideal conditions the run on Saturday at North Taieri brought to a close the hunting season in Otago. There was a good turnout of followers and spectators. The going was exceptionally good, but the run was marred by the hounds breaking at the start and missing the trail. After the hunt Carnival, a four-year-old by Nightly out of Grey Wells, ridden by R. Fox; Powys, J. McCulloch; and Sunstorm, R. Garside, were schooled over the steeplechase fences. Excellent entries have been received for the annual point to point steeplechase meeting which will be held ovep the same properyt next Saturday. Those who followed were:—The acting master, Mr K. Russell on Blue Bird; the acting deputy master, Mr W. Clifford on Noela; tile huntsman, Mr J. McCulloch on Dictator; the whip, Mr R. Garside on Sunnee; Miss N. Barclay on Astros, Miss Jan Crossan on Sir Peter, Miss Y. Clifford on* Diamond, Miss G. King on Skipper, Miss N. Landreth on Sally Mine, Messrs B. Hastie on General McArthur, P. Innes on Jimmy, R. Fox on Bambi, D. Hunter on Rolance, F. Ford on Maadi, R. Hinton on Certain, G. Lloyd on Jacko, T. Pollock on Top Town, A. Warburton on Mystery, R. Carter on Miss Muffet, B. Ir.nes on Billy Boy, Master Reg Sim on Nugget. At the. conclusion of the hunt afternoon tea was provided at the residence of Mr D. Connor, and before departing the acting master, Mr K.
