After a lengthy spell Imperial Grattan is again in work under P. Gallagher. He is to be raced at the Addington meeting. By Maxegin Maxeb is a smart type of Maxegin from Lady Bunker, by Guy Parrish froni Bessie Bingen. Maxee, who was foaled in 1939 is not very big, but, given plenty of time, he has developed into a solid trotter. He was not over-raced, his six starts being productive of a first, second and two thirds, a record he should extend this season. Big Possibilities Belmoral, only a lour-year-old, is - a young trotter, with big possibilities In the future. He contested four races last season before showing any form, but his next four starts resulted in two firsts, a second and a fourth. Hutt Park Dates Strong exception to the club being refused its usual summer dates was stressed by the president of the Wellington Trotting Club (Mr A. Anderson) at the annual meeting last week. He said that the Dates Committee of the New Zealand Trotting Conference had allocated the club’s dates to the Auckland and Kaikoura Clubs, and although efforts had been made to secure their reinstatement, this has been met by a definite refusal. Therefore, at the moment the club had been allocated six days for racing but only four dates had been settled. Engaged at Addington The six-year-old gelding. Baby Grand, who showed good form last season when trained at Epsom to be placed in five races, is. scheduled to have his next start, in the Islington Handicap at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting this month. Baby Grand's record last season included a win over Red Ace in the R. Hannon Memorial Handicap at the Cambridge Trotting Club's meeting on January 11 and a win over Gung Ho in the President’s Handicap at the Manawatu Trotting Club’s meeting on April 19 By Lusty Volo, Baby Grand is out of Mountain Jewel, who is by Blue Mountain King.
