UNWIELDLY EXECUTIVE

DUNEDIN BOWLING CENTRE OPINION OF PRESIDENT “ Representation on the centre is becoming unwieldy,” said the president of the Dunedin Bowling Centre, Mr W Johnston, at the monthly meeting of the centre on Saturday night. •'With two more clubs applying for affiliation, the accommodation for meetings is rapidly becoming inadequate. The centre is only carrying out the wishes of the clubs, and one representative on the executive for two or three clubs would be sufficient.” Mr C. R. Caffin suggested that a management committee should be elected from the annual meeting of the centre.—lt was decided to write to the Auckland Centre to ask for information regarding the constitution of the Management Committee there. The programme of matches for the season was approved as follows: — Saturday Matches. —November 1,8, 15, 22, 29, December 6, 13, January 31, February 7, 14. Holmes Feathers Matches. —November 10, 17, 24, December 1,8, 15, February 2,9, 16. Ties. —February 23, 25; finals February 28. Dominion Championships.—January 12 to 28. Elderly Bowlers.—Februray 21. Easter Tournament.—March 24-31. Club Day.—April 3. Permission to hold one-day tournaments was granted to the Logan Park Club (December 9), St. Clair (December 20), and Taieri (January 10). A remit was submitted by the Karitane Club proposing that the Dunedin Bowling Centre, should apply for a blazer of its own, as there was great difficulty in getting the striped cloth necessary for the different clubs. It was proposed that bowlers could wear club badges on the pocket. The secretary, Mr R. S. M.
