Nizam of Hyderabad Offers Co-operation

Rec 10.15 p.m. NEW DELHI. Aug. 15. The Nizam of Hyderabad, at’a banquet for the retiring British Resident, said he and his State desired to remain in the British Commonwealth, although the nature of their association might differ from time to time. He had become an independent Sovereign when the British left India, but this did not mean he would stand aloof from nis neighbours. He proposed to appoint representatives at New Delhi and Karachi, and hoped that some form of Standing Committee would-be established to assist the new Dominions and any States remaining autonomous to co-operate actively as members ofwhat might grow to be regarded as a United Indian Commonwealth
