THE KING’S CUP
JUDGE’S PLACINGS DISPUTED OWNER OF HIRAJI REQUESTS INQUIRY Rec. 7 p.m BRISBANE, Aug. 15. The owner of the former New Zealander Hirajl may ask the Queensland Turf Club to Inquire into the judge’s placings in last Wednesday’s King’s Cup. Hiraji was placed second, a head behind Falcon Knight. Hughes, who was not in Brisbane for the race, said that he had seen photographs of the finish showing Hiraji two lengths clear of the others. He maintains that no camera angle could account for such disparity. He has already scratched Hiraji for to-morrow’s Exhibition Handicap and has ordered the horse to be brought back to Sydney as early as possible. Hughes said he was considering not entering any of his horses in Brisbane until a magic-eye camera was installed.
