TERM OF REFORMATIVE DETENTION P.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. " There are those who regard this crime of stealing from the totalisator as worse than breaking into a sanctuary and taking something from the altar," said Mr R. Hardie Boys in the Supreme Court to-day when appealing for leniency for Earle Dodds, aged 32, a machinist, who had pleaded guilty to six charges of forging totalisator tickets. He was sentenced to two and a-half years’ reformative detention on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent.
