WAITING GAME PLAYED
RUSSIANS IN KOREA ' AMERICAN GENERAL’S CHARGE
Daily Times Special Service. WASHINGTON, Rec. 10 p.m. May 27. “ I believe that Russia wants to make Korea a Communist satellite,” said Lieutenant-general Hodge, Commander of the American Forces in Korea, to the House Appropriations Committee in testimony on army appropriations. He declared that the Russians are playing a waiting game, hoping that America will get tired and get out of Korea.
He said: “The Russians are losing an unmitigated propaganda campaign against the United States. They are trying to make the Koreans dissatisfied, picturing to them that America is preparing to colonise their country in order to drain it and that we are doing nothing to carry out our commitments.”
