ROUGH CROSSINGS OF STRAIT P.A. WELLINGTON, Apl. 15. The steamers on the Lyttelton and Nelson services had rough journeys to and from Wellington last night. The Hinemoa ran head on into a southerly storm for the third time m her short service, but weathered it well, ana was only 25 minutes late in reaching Lyttelton. The Rangatira made good time on the run northward, but the strong wind made three attempts to berth her necessary. . ■ The Nelson steamer Matangi, lightly laden and with few passengers, made heavy weather of the Strait crossing and did not reach the Queens wharf, Wellington, until 11.50 a.m.. nearly six hours late.
