N.Z. Official Correspondent with the J Force Rec. 8 p.m. CHOFU, Apl. 11. The latest parcel of mail to reach the New Zealanders in the 8.C.0.F. covered the distance from New Zealand to Japan in the record time of 21 days. The 279 bags of parcels sent by sea from New Zealand last month travelled via Australia, and were received by the New Zealand Army Post Office in Japan exactly three weeks later. This shipment brought the total number of bags of parcel mail received by the New Zealanders in the occupation forces to more than 4000. In the first year the force was in Japan New Zealanders received 35,522 parcels. Altogether the New Zealand Army Post Office has handled 36 inward parcel mails from New Zealand. Statistics for the first year show that New Zealanders received more than twice as many parcels as they sent from Japan, but recieved about 3000 letters fewer than they sent. *
