REHEARSAL PARADES

ANZAC DAY IN JAPAN OBSERVANCE AT MAIN POINTS Official News Service (Rec. 7 p.m. . KURE, Apl. 12. Anzac Day, or Gallipoli Day, as it is called in the British Commonwealth Occupation Force, will be celebrated this year by unit parades and commemoration services. The first rehearsal of the main parade was held to-day in Kure’s Anzac Park—so named because on Anzac Day last year the 8.C.0.F. held its first large parade on this former Japanese naval parade ground. Approximately 1400 officers and* men, including a detachment from the Royal Navy, took part in the rehearsal. It is expected that General H. C. Robertson, himself an original Anzac, will take the salute in the parade at Kure. Preparations for individual parades and commemoration services are being made by the various components of the 8.C.0.F. in the New Zealand area. There will be devotional services and parades at Chofu, where Brigadier L. Potter will take the salute, and at Yamaguchi and Mizuba. April 25 has been set aside as a holiday for all 8.C.0.F. troops not specifically required for duty.
