PRICES SHOW IMPROVEMENT i Special to the Dally Times OAMARU, Apl. 15. Prices for both fat cattle and fat sheep at the Waiareka sale to-day showed an improvement on those of last week. Prices for store sheep were also higher than recent sales. Lighter fat cattle which were in demand brought good prices, but, overweight cattle were not favoured. There was an over supply of cattle, while a small yarding of fat sheep and a medium yarding of store sheep were entered. Quotations: — - Fat Cattle: Steers, prime made from £l9 10s to £2l; medium, £ls 10s to £l7 15s; light, £8 10s to £ll ss; cows, prime, £lO 10s to £11; medium. £8 15s to £9 10s; light, £7 ss; heifers, £4 to £8; dairy cattle, heifers, at £l3. Store Cattle: 18-month m.s. cattle realised £7 10s; calves, steers, to £7 4s; heifers, to £6 4s. . ...... Fat Sheep; Wethers, prime sold to 40» 6d* medium, 36s to 38s; light, 32s to 355; ewes, prime 19s 9d to 21s 3d; others, to 14s; lambs, 26s to 32s 6d. Store Sheep: two-tooth ewes made to 32s 6d; s.m. ewes, 22s 6d to 245; cull ewes, 7s; four-tooth ewes, 28s; ewe lambs, prime to 30s 6d; medium, 25s 9d to 275; light, 23s to 24s Id; m.s. lambs, to 17s 3d: rape lambs, to 24s 6d. Pigs sold from 30s to 575.
