LORNEVILLE SALE

EASING IN PRICES P.A. INVERCARGILL, Apl. 15. Prices were easier in all sections at Lorneville to-day. The; entry of 190 fat cattle was 34 above the figure for the previous sale. Generally prices were easier compared with those at the beginning of the month. The following is the range of prices:— Prime heavy-weight cattle made to £23 ss; medium-weights, from £l6 10s to £l9 10s; lighter and unfinished, down to £lO 10s; fat heifers, to £l6; medium heifers, £l2 to £l4 10s; and lighter and unfinished down to £8 10s. Fat cows made to £l4 10s; average quality sorts, from £8 10s to £l2; and vealers, from 30s to £3 15s. Although there was a big yarding of 569 fat sheep, the number was down by about 250 compared with the entry at the previous sale. Good quality fat wethers made from 37s to 39s 6d; medium quality, 33s to 365; lighter, down to 30s; Southdown cross two-tooth ewes, 29s to 34s - and older ewes, to 245.
