MILTON STOCK SALE

There was a small yarding of approximately 1500 sheep, the majority of which were lambs, at the Milton sale. The ewe entry comprised small lots, with no quotable lines of s.m. ewes. The following is the range of values. Medium two-tooth, made to 29s 9d; cull ewes, from 9s: good ewe lambs, 30s 6d, medium sorts, 25s 9d to 275; forward wether lambs. 21s; medium, 15s to 17s; and culls from 10s. One good pen of m.s. lambs, in forward condition, made 26s 6d. Wethers were in short supply, forward wethers making 325. and others, from 26s to 31s. . ..... A large entry of approximately 150 rams met with a dull sale for other than young rams. One-shear Southdowns made to 8 guineas; two and three-shear, from 3 to 5 guineas; and four-shear, from 11 guineas. Extra good Border Leicester rams made 10 guineas; others, from 2J to 31 guineas; while average rams were difficult to sell. Good one-shear Romney rams made to 7 guineas; medium rams, from 3 to 5 guineas: aged Romneys, from 11 guineas; and culls, from half a guinea. An entry of approximately 25 head of voung cattle met with a dull sale. m.s. 18-month beasts making £5 and m.s. calves. £3 7s 6d.
