PRISONERS OF WAR
ALLOWANCE REFUSED SYDNEY, Mar. 15. Ex-servicemen are bitter, about the Government's refusal to rescind its decision not to pay 3s daily allowance to former prisoners of the Japanese. The allowance would have been based on the number of days the individual applicant had spent in Japanese hands. The Australian Legion of Ex-service-men claims to have on its files more than 1500 case histories of former prisoners of war in need of help.
