CLOAK FOR MILITARY AIMS SOVIET PAPER’S PROTEST MOSCOW, Mar. 16.
The British and Americans in the Western zones of Germany are encouraging a revival of Nazism by failing to purge German sports organisations, says the journal Soviet Sport. Emphasising that professional sports idols such as the former heavy-weight champion, Max Schmeling, are still allowed to box, the journal says: “The Allies should remember that after World War I sport, was used in Germany as a cloak for military aims.”
