OBITUARY
SIR JOHN BANKES (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 1. The death has occurred of Sir John Eldon Bankes, aged 92. Sir John, who was a Privy Councillor, wvas admitted as a barrister in 1878, and held appointments later as judge of the King’s Bench division of the High Court from 1910-15, and as Lord Justice of Appeal from 1915 to 1927.
