IBARRA RE-ELECTED
PRESIDENT OF ECUADOR ACCLAIMED BY PEOPLE (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) QUITO. Aug. 12. The Assembly re-elected Dr Velasco Ibarra President by 43 votes to 10. The entire delegation from Manabi Province withdrew in protest. Dr Ibarra has been virtual dictator for the past four months. While the Assembly met to-day public demonstrations acclaimed Dr Ibarra and threatened to dissolve Parliament if it did not re-elect him.
