CESSNOCK COLLIERY
THE ABANDONED WORKS FIRE BREAKS OUT AGAIN (Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 9. Fire has again broken out in the abandoned works of the Cessnock 'No. 2 colliery, where flames and smoke are issuing from the crater over the old workings. The fire is not considered likely to spread to the dimensions of the outbreak which raged through the workings last Easter. The present outbreak was caused by the collapse to-day of a small area of earth over the abandoned workings, letting the air into coal which was still smouldering from the Easter fire
