EFFECTS OF BOMB
THE SUBMARINE SKATE ENGINES UNDAMAGED BIKINI, July 7. Although the submarine Skate was believed to have been almost directly under the atom bomb blast* it was able to cruise to-day around Bikini Lagoon under its own power. The bomb reduced the Skate’s superstructure to shredded steel, but Admiral Blandy, after boarding the craft, saidr “Inside you would never know there had been an atomic blast.”
