RED CROSS CLUBS

The Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society is to take over the United Industries Club in Willis street, Wellington, and will expand its work to include the activities of the club. This was announced at a meeting in the club rooms on Thursday night last, when active club members were invited to meet oflicials of the Wellington Centre of the society. An outline of the scheme for extension of activities was given by Miss D Whitclaw, from the Wellington Centre of the Red Cross Society. It is hoped to introduce Red Cross clubs into factories and larger ‘ places of employment in Wellington, the aims being to promote the ideals of health, development of service and encouragement of international friendliness. The United Industries Club would be a social and homely background to the work, It was said.
