“TRUTH WILL OUT”

BRITAIN’S ATTITUDE LONDON, July 5.

The Chief Rabbi of Palestine, Dr Herzog, discussed the situation in Palestine with Mr Attlee to-day. Mr George Hall, M.P., commented after the meeting, “My impression is that the position is not beyond remedy, critical as it is.” The Jerusalem correspondent of the Daily Telegraph, surveying the representation of newspapers, news agencies and radio networks in Palestine, says that after- the recent trouble British and American correspondents flocked to Palestine. They have had a continual fight against established local propagandist journalists, and have been partly frustrated by the special nature of their activities. The British Government attitude now is that “ truth will out," and in endeavouring to achieve this the Government is letting correspondents see the facts for themselves. Correspondents are faced with extreme difficulties in checking stories sent by mail and otherwise by Jewish organisations alleging atrocities against women and children.
