CRIMINAL FOLLY
VIOLENCE CONDEMNED (Rec. 1 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 7. The president of the American Council of Judaism, Mr Lessing J. Rosenwald, in a broadcast, warned that Palestine was a potential menace to world peace and urged American Jews to seek a peaceful solution to a situation which was approaching anarchy in the Holy Land. He described reports of clashes between Jews and British as propaganda, adding that the measures the British Government had taken to restore order were a natural consequence to a reign of terror. “Jews throughout the world are not and never can be as Jews, participants in political action,” he said. “American Jews know that to turn to machine guns as final arbiters is tragic and criminal folly. They will have nothing to do with terrorism or violence.”
