OBITUARY
MR DAVID INNES
Mr David Innes, whose death occurred at Purakanui last Saturday, was a resident of Weston, and was well known and highly respected throughout North. Otago and South Canterbury. He was born at Georgetown and educated at the Awamoko and Duntroon Schools. After working in the Awamoko district tor some years, he started farming in partnership with Mr Thomas Cochrane, of Waikahiki, but he returned later to the Awamoko district, and then went to Hilderthorpe From there he went to manage a farm at Incholme, and before his retirement three years ago he worked a farm at Weston. Mr Innes was an ardent worker for the Presbyterian Church, and was church manager for 12 years at Papakaio, anc the manager at Weston. He was also on various committees. In his younger days he was a member of the Duntroon Volunteers. He was also a member of the Awamoa Bowling Club and the Nortn Otago Scottish Society. He is survived bv his wife (formerly Miss Mary Johnston, of Georgetown), and his only daughter (Mrs D. Lambic, of Mayfield).
