NINETY AERODROMES
Sir,—The point I wished to make about aerodromes may be a little obscure as it is stated to-day. Like the generality of people, I know nothing about the 90 aerodromes. I have no evidence whatever of their existence apart from the report in the Daily Times of April 11, 1944. But it strikes me as a very extraordinary thing that 90 aerodromes should have been built —at a cost of £4,soo,ooo—which appear to be of no use now. Where are these mystery aerodromes? We know none are about Dunedin, where one of them would be very useful now. Neither do any of them appear to be in our country districts, seeing it is now proposed to build an aerodrome at Alexandra, near where we might have expected one would have been built.—l am, etc., M. Dunedin, June 10.
[ln addition to the Taieri aerodrome, several landing grounds have been established in Otago at very considerable expense. The principal of these are located at Balclutha. Gore. Ranfurly, Alexandra, Cromwell, Queenstown. Wanaka, Glenorchy. Waianakarua, and Hilderthorpe.— Ed.. 0.D.T.l
