TRAMS AT RUSH HOURS

Sir,—As a frequent north-bound passenger at lunch-time on the George street line, may I suggest to the transport manager that he provide a shuttle service between the Exchange and Frederick street for one-section passengers, and make a minimum fare on all long-distance trams to their destinations for passengers picked up between the Exchange and Frederick street? In other words, the fare on Gardens trams would be a two-section minimum, and on Normanby Irams a three-section minimum. Apply these suggestions over the lunch period and between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and see the difference.—l am, etc., 22536. June 11.
