TRAM STOPPING PLACES
Sir—Now that the transport manager has had time to settle into his new appointment, it is hoped that he will look into the matter of stopping places of the cars. In Anderson’s Bay road and at the St. Kilda terminus, to mention only two, the present stopping places, are inconvenient and absolutely dangerous to tramway passengers. Having come from outside of Dunedin, it may be expected that the transport manager will make the convenience and safety of his passengers the first consideration. Too much attention has been paid in the past to a noisy minority in the shape of some drivers of motor vehicles. I hope that the tramways passengers under the new management will now receive some consideration in regard to the stopping places of the cars, which they certainly have not done of late. —I am,- etc., Regular Passenger. June 10. [The transport manager (Mr L. C. Greig) informs us that the question raised in the above letter has already come under the notice of his department, and it is hoped that improvements will be effected in the future.—Ed., O.D.T.]
