GENERAL SMUTS
TALKS WITH KING FAROUK (Rec. 11.15 a.m.) ROME, June 11. General Smuts, who arrived by air, declared that he was confident that the new Anglo-Egyptian treaty would be beneficial for both the British Empire and Egypt. He will leave to-morrow for Cairo, where he will confer with King Farouk.
