EAST TAIERI SCHOOL
The annual entertainment of the East Taieri School attracted a large attendance to the Kinmont Hall, where the pupils under the direction of Mr R. Christensen presented a programme of more than ordinary merit. The primers opened the concert with three items—a group of songs, a dance, and a play, " Mr Nonsense.” The juniors' items followed—- “ Billy Boy ” and " Waltzing Matilda,” and two plays, ” The Pirate ” and " The Foolish Men of Gotham.” A very successful item was the musical play, " The Coffee Stall." The seniors’ share consisted of the songs “The Ash Grove,” " The Road to the Isles,'” and an unaccompanied part song, " The First Nowell and two plays, “ The First Form ” and "Gossip.” Individual items were: Piano solos, Isabel Stevenson and Jean Hunter; violin solo, Nancy Wilson; Irish jig, Frances Milne; song, with chorus, ” Widdicombe'Fair,” Keith Larsen. Acrobatics by a group of Form I and II pupils closed the programme.
