WAIKATO PRODUCTION
FULL OUTPUT FOR RAILWAYS (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 14. A complete stoppage of all supplies of Waikato coal to industries from Monday next has been ordered by the Government in order that the urgent requirements of the Railway Department mav be met. The only users, apart from the railways, whose orders may be accepted, are hospitals. The order has been issued by the mining controller. Mr C. H. Benny, in the following telegram:—" Owing to delays in shipping from the West Coast, the. position is serious. It is essential that instructions be issued to the Waikato and other mines that the full production of domestic coal from Monday until the mines close be consigned to the railways. Hospital requirements only should be excepted."
