OCTAGON THEATRE
A SPARKLING COMEDY A sparkling musical comedy, “The Girls He Left Behind.” screened in technicolor, is the main attraction in yesterday’s change of programme at the Octagon Theatre. The film, has an array of musical stars, headed by Alice Faye, Carmen Miranda, Phil Baker, and Benny Goodman and his famous orchestra. The supporting cast includes Eugene Pallette, Charlotte Greenwood, Edward Everett Horton and Tony de Marco, as well as James Ellison, Sheila Ryan and Dave Willock. In one of the most delightfully exciting stories of the year Alice is cast as a night club trouper who, without knowing it, is forced into competition with Sheila Ryan for the affection of handsome James Ellison, an army hero, who contrives to keep the two girls apart by an ingenious device.
