ST. JAMES THEATRE
A MYSTERY FILM A new mystery-thriller, “ Strange Affair,” starring the popular comedians Allyn Joslyn and Evelyn Keyes, who will be remembered as the supersleuth team starred in “Dangerous Blondes,” opened a season at the St. James Theatre yesterday. All the ingredients necessary to make a successful mystery film are included—a beautiful and mysterious woman, a murder before the startled eyes of numerous witnesses, the disappearance of a suspect with 200,000 dollars, and, in addition, an enemy espionage' ring planning the escape of interned aliens Margarite Chapman and Edgar Buchanan also have featured roles. An excellent first half is headed by the latest “ Community Sing ” featurette, “Screen Snapshots,” news from Hollywood, and the latest “Air Mail News.” Box plans are at the theatre, the D.I.C. and Jacobs's.
