McCaw, presided over the monlhy meeting of the local Patriotic Committee. A letter was received from headquarters saying that there was a small deficit in the local quota, but it was pointed out that £6 had been sent forward by the Women’s Institute and had not been credited to the local account, and 13s had been paid in by the treasurer. As these amounts more than covered the deficiency, the secretary was instructed to write asking that the matter should be adjusted. Mr McCaw ffianked the committee, and especially the collectors, for their valuable work during the years of the war He said that probably only one more meeting of the committee would be necessary,: and the date of this meeting was left to the president and secretary to arrange.
