Ministerial Mr Adam Hamilton, a member of the War Cabinet, was a passenger by the through express yesterday on his way to Wellington for the opening of Parliament to-day.

F. Mclnnes and W. J. Mclnnes (Dunedin) have been granted the status of F.P.A.N.Z. (fellow public accountant) in the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Mr M. R. Carson (Dunedin) has been admitted to membership of the society with the status of A.R.A.N.Z. (associate registered accountant). The staff of the local branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., met last week to bid farewell to Mr Norman T Brown, who is retiring after 41 years service with the bank. The manager, Mr I S Cantrell, wished him every happiness in his retirement, and of the staff presented him with a solid leather bowling case and a handsome wall mirror. . „ . R. Terry, Mrs J. Terry, and Mr J. Milner from Wellington, Mr J. Orr. Mrs J. Orr, and Mr Levitoff from Christchurch.
