A motion of sympathy was passed at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Oamaru Lodge with the relatives in the death of P.G. Bro. G. Puttick. Mr and Mrs J. McCabe, Kakanui, have received advice that their son, Flight Sergeant J. D. McCabe, who has recently finished his first tour of operations in the Pacific, has gained his commission, with the rank of Pilot Officer. The Oamaru Harbour Board yesterday expressed sympathy with Mr A. N. Hayes in his illness, and reference was made to his long service to the board.
