The sale .Was a satisfactory one for all classes, the trade competing freely for' all classes of wethers, young ewes and prime suitable sorts. Freezing buyers 'showed their usual activity for sheep suitable for export. Quotations: Extra . prime wethers, to 455; prime, 39s to 42s fid; medium, 36s Gd to 37s 6d; and light, from 29s 6d. The bulk comprised freezing weight lambs and included a large number of unfinished ana light sorts. Any pens showing quality attracted good competition from the trade and freezing buyers, although all sorts had a particularly keen sale throughout. Prices in places appeared to exceed schedule rates. Store Cattle.—The largest entry for some time was forward, including a few pens of rather good sorts. The demand for cows and boner sorts again met with a poor inquiry. The yarding of vealers was not a particularly large one, and prices for these showed an Improvement on recent sales. Best vealers made from £5 5s to £b as , medium. £3 17s to £4 8s; and small, from 38 pigs.—The entry of baconers was the smallest for some time, 70 being offered.
