HEAVY TOLL OF JAPANESE (Rec. 0.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, May 22. The counted Japanese dead in the Australian Sixth Division’s advance along the North New Guinea coast from Aitape to Wewak now total 4112. At the week-end 250 bodies were counted, and the Army Department revealed to-day that more than 800 Japanese died in a vain effort to prevent the Australian occupation ox Wewak.
