DISPLACED PERSONS
OVER 2,500,000 FOUND (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 18. Allied armies in the past two months have found over 2,500,000 displaced persons, 40 per cent, of whom are Russians, says Reuter’s correspondent at Allied Headquarters. The French represented 23 per cent., Poles 14, Italians 9, Belgians 5, and Dutch 5. The remainder were Jugoslavs, Czechs,- Luxemburgers, and '''other Europeans. It has not yet been possible to determine whether the original estimate of 4,500,000 displaced people in the Allied Headquarters’ area was to high or whether large numbers have still not been found.
