GREAT SUFFERING

As the result of fire and war operations in Manila during the Japanese retreat, the Portuguese colony suffered severely. Thirteen are dead or missing from the 140 Portuguese in Manila. Four were wounded, and 62 rendered homeless. The others are now without work.
