VATICAN’S PROTEST
MONKS KILLED BY JAPANESE NEW YORK, (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) Mar. 22. The Vatican will protest strongly to Japan against the execution of Franciscan monks in Manila. Reports from the Vatican’s own diplomatic sources reveal that Japanese troops killed not only monks, but nuns. The Vatican’s action strengthens the belief that a diplomatic breach between Japan and Spain is imminent. '
