LITTLE CHANGE IN VALUES (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Mar. 20.

The greater part of the fat sheep entry at Lorneville to-day consisted of ewes, which were mostly freezing sorts. There were 991 cheep forward, compared with 1186 last week. The quality of the entry generally was lower than that at the previous sale, but values for ewes showed a slight Improvement considering the quality, and the market for wethers remained unchanged. Prime heavy wethers brought from 36s to 37s 6d, good quality medium-weights 33s to 34s 6d, lighter sorts 31s to 325, and small 28s to 295-. Good-quality butchers’ ewes realised from 21s 6d to 235, and freezingweight sorts 17s to 21s 3d, according to weight and quality. Small maiden twotooth ewes made from 23s to 265.

Some fat iambs of really good quality were included in a small entry, only 51 being yarded, compared with 249 last week. Heavy-weight lambs made from 31s to 345, good-quality freezing sorts 27s 6d to 295, and light and inferior 22s to 245.

The yarding of 146 fat cattle was largei than last week’s.
