“ MANHATTAN " POSITIONS APPLICATIONS BEING RECEIVED Mothers interested in “ placing ” their daughters in jobs are advised to investigate the positions now available in the “ Manhattan ” organisation—D. H. Blackie, Ltd., creators and makers of “ Manhattan ” frocks and coats. The Manhattan positions are careers more than “jobs” in the ordinary sense of the word. Girls are apprenticed for a period of two years at award rates and conditions. Conscientious girls can build up their earnings with handsome bonuses. The work is interesting and the hours are not arduous—-40-hour week of five days. The conditions are attractive —morning tea is served daily in the modernly-equipped “Manhattan” cafeteria. Girls joining up now with D. H. Blackie, Ltd., will in a few years’ time have a profitable profession at their finger tips. Applications should be made either by telephoning D. H. Blackie, Ltd.— 12-390 or 12-970—0 r calling in person at the “Manhattan” headquarters, corner Bond and Police streets, Dunedin, from next Thursday, January 11.
