MEETING OF COMMITTEE ; The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association . held yesterday. - afternoon, was attended by Messrs W. J. Strong (in the chair), F. H. Campbell, J. Hope. J. Dey, G. Hutton, F. W. Knight, J. A. Paterson, H. C. King, and Miss Pryde. Gifts from the following persons were received during the month, and votes of thanks were passed to the donors:—Mr A. Henderson,’early plan of Queenstown and -Arrowtown, -with advertisements; Mrs A. Robertson, two photographs of i engines'; Mr and Mrs Berriey. - large iron kettle, brought to New Zealand by Poictiers in 1850; the Rev. G. E./Morelon, the Official Handbook of New Zealand, 1875; members of the family of--the.late Robert Aitchison. small wheelbarrow and harmonium landed at Wilsher Bay over 75 years ago; and also a hand-knitted cot quilt: Captain E. Harris, photograph of model Of the Philip Laing; Mrs E. V- Crowe, framed photographs of her late grandparents, Mr-and Mrs Charles King, and her late father, Mr W. J. King, Lady Egidla, 1867; photographs. of w. Campbell and,- Mrs Agnes Campbell,'. arrived Dunedin, .kl 861; : ' Mrs Edmond, collection "of interesting papers; Mrs J. Mathie' framed photographs of her late grandparents, Mr and Mrs Thomas Andrews, Robert Henderson, 1858; Mr John Milne, pair of wire .cutters used for cutting the wire on sheaves when reapers and binders were first introduced in the Knapdale district; Mrs E. Brown, concertina which belonged to her late uncle. Mr Alex. Matheson; Mrs L. E. Bayley, framed portraits of her late parents, Mr arid Mrs G. F. J. Townsend (Mr Townsend, Gabriel's Gully, 1861); Mrs Steadman, framed, portraits of her late grandparents, Mr and Mrs Robert Elder, Mosgiel Junction, Aboukir. 1863. Nine descendants were enrolled during the month; , ■ '
