APPEALS AGAINST SERVICE The No. XI Armed Forces Appeal Board —Messrs W. R. Clarke (chairman), D. T. Vorley and J. C. H. Somerville—held a silting yesterday to hear appeals against mobilisation and for releases from the services.

Harvey, surfaceman (as from February 28, 1945); New Zealand Refrigerating Co., for H. J. Guilford, freezing worker, W. R. McVie, engine driver, and W. R. Ness and Son for T. Ness, foreman woolsorter, and G. N. Nicholls, woolsorter: Singer Sewing Machine Company for J. T. Mitchell, mechanic; Frew Brothers for W. J. Thomson, baker; W. Wright and Co. for J. A. Shaw, baker; F. Fraser for A. D. Gill, baker. . „ An appeal by Mrs A. M. Conroy for the release of C. W. Conroy from the navy was granted.
