LEMNOS ISLAND
LANDING BY BRITISH TROOPS (Rec, 11.40 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 22. British troops have landed on the .ffigean island of Lemnos, opposite the entrance to the Dardanelles, and have captured the capital, Mudros. The landings were made last Monday, and by Tuesday afternoon the capital had been taken after street fighting. Some of the garrison escaped by sea, but 400 prisoners were taken.
