GRAND THEATRE
There are six bands in “Jam Session,” the main attraction in the current programme at the Grand Theatre, including those of Charlie Barnet, Louis Armstrong, Alvirio Rey, Jan Garber, Glen and Teddy Powell. This lively film also numbers in the cast of players Ann Miller, Nan Wynne, the Pied Pipers, and Jess Barker. The story deals with a Kansas girl (Ann Miller), who wins a local dance contest and thereby a round trip ticket to Hollywood. She decides to give herself a month to break into pictures, and the story then follows her unsuccessful efforts to get the first break. "The Return of Wild Bill,” another of the Will Bill Saunders adventure stories, is the supporting picture.
