ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING OF COUNCIL The council of the Waitaki Acclimatisation Society held its monthly meeting on Wednesday night. There were present Dr E. E. Butler (in the chair) and Messis C Andrew, R. B. Gibb, M. A. Mathie, J. McL. Robertson. D. H. Sim, J. BlacK, F. Cleverley, W. Wray, W. McD. Rae, and the secretary (Mr A. C. Piper). The Otago Society wrote asking whether North Otago anglers had found any im«. movement in fishing at Lake Ohau since the Waitaki dam prevented the salmon from reaching the lake. —It was decided to inform the Dunedin Society that, according to information received, there did not appear to have been any effect on the fishing. . ~ .. „ It was decided to rescind the motion passed at the council’s last meeting to order 100,000 brown trout fry, and the order was reduced to 50,000.
